Registering a domain and hosting one is commonly mistaken by many people to be one and the same thing. They're actually 2 separate services - the domain name registration is the actual name and nothing more, while the hosted domains feature refers to the number of already registered domains that one could accommodate in the same website hosting account and have site files and e-mails for them. Your sites will function in precisely the same way no matter if the domain addresses are registered and hosted in one place or are registered with company A and directed to company B. Simply registering a domain name without hosting it will give you ownership, but will not enable you to have a web site if you don't host this domain in some account so that records for it are set up and it starts opening the content from that account.
Hosted Domains in Cloud Hosting
One of the main differences between our cloud hosting plans is the number of domain addresses which you can host in a single account. Having more domain names with active websites for them means using more server resources, therefore, the more domains you want to host, the more expensive the package. In this way, we offer you the opportunity to select a more affordable plan if you want to have just one or several websites. In the same time, you can always upgrade your package or keep the current one and only add extra slots for hosting more domain names within your existing account, so you will never be restricted by this feature. No matter how many domains you host, there is no limit how many domains you can register in your account and it is your decision if you will also host them or you will direct them to already existing domains through the parking function.
Hosted Domains in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you buy a semi-dedicated server plan from our company, you'll be able to host as many domains as you would like no matter if you register them here or you already own them through a different company. We've decided not to limit this feature given that the semi-dedicated plans are quite powerful and the load they can handle is fairly high, so it would not sound right to be able to host a fixed amount of domain names. The accounts are controlled using the Hepsia Control Panel, which will give you complete control over all of your hosted domains. You can add a new domain name with a couple of clicks and everything is done easily and intuitively, as opposed to alternative Control Panels where you might even have to switch between different accounts to control a couple of domains. In case you register a new domain name on our end, it will be hosted automatically in your semi-dedicated account.
Hosted Domains in VPS Servers
Our VPS service can be used to host unrestricted number of domain addresses regardless of the hosting CP that you pick during the ordering procedure. You will have an abundance of system resources at your disposal, so you can choose how many domains will use them. If you get the VPS with DirectAdmin or cPanel, you can create an individual hosting account for each domain address and we don't have a limit for the amount of accounts you can create. If you pick our Hepsia CP, all domains are going to be managed using one account i.e. there will not be a main domain name and add-on domains like with the other Control Panels. The second alternative might be more convenient if you don't need to provide access to a specific domain to other people and you don't want to switch between accounts to control the domain names that you host on the server. Additionally, any new domain name which you register through Hepsia shall be hosted automatically on the server without doing anything manually afterward.
